This Revamped Field Watch Is More Fall-Coded Than Pumpkin Spice

Save this story Save Story Save this story Watch collaborations can sometimes feel they have been randomly cobbled together, two disparate brands fusing to make something wholly uninteresting. This isn’t the case for Huckberry or the Canadian military watchmaker Marathon, which supplied timekeeping equipment to Allied forces in 1941. The natural alignment between brands gave Huckberry the perfect excuse to rummage through the archives and collaborate on the all-new, 41mm CeraShell Navigator, a pilot’s watch whose design traces back to the Steel Navigator developed with Kelly Air Force Base in 1986.

Military and heritage references are already a big part of Huckberry’s in-house brands, particularly Flint and Tinder. For its take on the Navigator, Huckberry focused on the dial, color, and tweaked a few distinct details rather than changing the watch too dramatically.

That starts with Marathon’s matte-black CeraShell case, here paired with an Arctic white dial for the first time on a CeraShell Navigator. The familiar 12- and 24-hour scales remain, while Huckberry swaps the usual red seconds hand for its hunter orange. Branding has also been kept to a minimum, with Huckberry’s tree logo placed on the crown instead of the already slightly crowded dial.

Together, the black case, white dial, and orange second hand simplify the Navigator’s appearance, but doesn’t drown out its classic military timepiece pedigree. The case is made from Marathon’s CeraShell, a proprietary combination of bio-sourced plastic and ceramic powder that helps keep the watch lightweight. It measures 11.5mm thick and is fitted with a sapphire crystal, while tritium tubes provide constant illumination for the hour and minute hands, hour markers, and bezel pip.

Inside the 41mm case is an ETA F06.115 HeavyDrive quartz movement, with water resistance rated to 60 meters. The watch comes with two straps, an olive-green DEFSTAN nylon strap and a coyote-brown HANK strap made using neoprene and Kevlar, extending the military influence beyond the case and dial.

The watch sits in the duality of being both rugged and completely refined, which is, in some ways, a perfect distillation of both brands. The Navigator is available now exclusively through Huckberry’s site .
