Yahoo Sports Staff Updated Sun, October 18, 2026 at 9:45 PM UTC About Our Ads Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement We're halfway through the NFL's Week 6 Sunday slate, which offered plenty of excitement in the early window.
Recent New York Giants acquisition quarterback J.J. McCarthy saw his first game action with the team, relieving Jameis Winston before falling 34-27 to Tyler Shough and the New Orleans Saints. The home underdog Tampa Bay Buccaneers were able to force the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers into overtime, but Aaron Rodgers found rookie Germie Bernard for his first career touchdown. With the extra point and the Buccaneers' offense stalling out, the Steelers improved to 4-2.
Also notable in the win column were the Tennessee Titans, who nabbed their first victory of the season after starting the year 0-5 under quarterback Cam Ward. That win now leaves the Miami Dolphins (bye) and Los Angeles Chargers (playing in the afternoon window) as the last remaining winless teams in the league.
