Prince William 'Triggered' by Possible Movie on Ex-Prince Andrew — Source

Prince Williamhas reportedly been unhappy with the possible movie onex-Prince Andrew. According to a source, the project could be based on the ex-Duke of York's downfall, leading to the recent shocking arrest. So, the idea of a potential film on the royal family once again has allegedly "triggered" the future king. As per the report, he would seemingly "despise" another fiction like the Netflix hit series, "The Crown."

Prince William not entertaining the idea of movie on ex-Prince Andrew, per source

Prince William has allegedly been worried about the idea of a potential movie on ex-Prince Andrew. The latter has been stripped of his royal titles and duties due to his scandalous past. He also had to leave Royal Lodge and move to the Sandringham estate. On February 19, he was arrested at his new home on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Now, there has been a buzz about Netflix planning a film on the ex-duke. But it seemed to have irked the heir to the throne. "There's a real sense of 'here we go again' which has really triggered William, especially as it seems Netflix are the ones leading the way to put this movie or TV series together," a source toldStarmagazine.

As per the report, the streamer might revive its hit series, "The Crown." It could allegedly continue with special or limited episodes based on the ex-prince. According to the insider, everyone seemed to be aware that William always "despised" such projects that "profit off his family's lowest points." "It happened with 'The Crown' and now comes yet another attack that'll cause widespread embarrassment," they added.

Earlier, theDaily Mailreported about Netflix, Disney, and Amazon participating in the race to bag the opportunity to make a movie on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Disney Studios' source claimed that they have reportedly been approached by multiple screenwriters. "The race is on in Hollywood to be the first studio to bring out an Andrew film," they said.

Malaysia PM tells parliament of plot to destabilise government

KUALA LUMPUR, March 3 (Reuters) - Malaysia's prime minister said a suspect in an alleged plot to topple the government had engaged an international public relations firm ‌to launch a coordinated attack aimed at undermining national institutions before the next election.

Reuters

Police ‌said last week they were investigating an alleged conspiracy to "sabotage national stability", under laws against undermining parliamentary democracy.

In an address to parliament on Tuesday, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim provided further details of the alleged plot, saying the suspect had engaged the PR firm as part of a response to being the subject of a large-scale graft investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Neither Anwar, nor the police, have ‌identified the individual suspect or the PR firm.

Anwar said the PR strategy, which began in August 2024 and included engaging media agencies, banks, and lawmakers, was to run until the next general election, due by early 2028.

"Their strategy... was to contact all foreign media with a strategy of undermining the government's efforts, especially the MACC's," Anwar told parliament, citing documents obtained by authorities.

"And then to use their power and contacts in foreign countries to shape a narrative questioning the ‌authority of the Malaysian government and organise a movement through the Malaysian parliament. That is what worries us."

Anwar said documents identified media firm Bloomberg as one of the agencies targeted by the alleged conspiracy.

A Bloomberg spokesperson did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment on Anwar's remarks.

A special government committee is conducting a separate investigation into allegations in a Bloomberg report ‌last month that head of MACC, Azam Baki, may have breached shareholding laws.

Azam has said he is willing to be investigated as he had "nothing to hide" and all his financial declarations have been made according to ‌public service laws.

Lawmakers, including a key party in Anwar's ruling coalition, have called for a royal inquiry into another Bloomberg article alleging broader misconduct at the anti-graft agency.

The MACC has said the allegations were "baseless", and that they were an attempt to discredit its investigations and ‌enforcement actions within the corporate sector.

On Tuesday, Anwar said a royal inquiry into the matter was "premature" as the special committee was expected to complete its probe this week.

What to know about Holi, the Hindu festival of colors

Holi, widely known as theHindu festival of colors, is a joyful annual celebration at the advent of spring with cultural and religious significance.

APTOPIX India Holi Festival

Typically observed in March in India, Nepal, other South Asian countries and across the diaspora, the festival celebrates love and signifies a time of rebirth and rejuvenation — a time to embrace the positive and let go of negative energy.

For one of Holi's most well-known traditions, celebrants clad in all white, come out to the street andthrow colored powdersat each other, leaving behind a kaleidoscope of pigments and joy. Festivities with music, dancing and food ensue.

Holi is celebrated at the end of winter and the beginning of spring, on the last full moon day of the Hindu luni-solar calendar month of Falgun. The date of the festival varies depending on the lunar cycle. Typically, it falls in March, and will be celebrated this year on March 4.

Holi has its origins in Hindu mythology and lore

In many parts of India, people light large bonfires the night before the festival to signify the destruction of evil and victory of good. Different mythological tales point to the reason behind this observance.

In one story, the king, Hiranyakashipu, ordered everyone in his kingdom to worship him and was irked when his own son Prahlad, a devotee of Lord Vishnu, disobeyed his command. So, he ordered his sister Holika who was immune from fire to take the child, Prahlad, into a bonfire while holding him in her lap. However, when the pyre was lit, the boy's devotion to Lord Vishnu protected him and left him unscathed while Holika, despite her immunity, burned to death.

In another southern India tradition, the event is known as Kama Dahanam to commemorate Lord Shiva burning Kamadeva, the god of love, with his third eye. It symbolizes the destruction of lust and other earthly attachments for a higher spiritual purpose, preceding the joy of colors.

Some also consider Holi a reference to Lord Krishna and his love for his beloved, Radha, and his cosmic play with his consorts and devotees called "gopikas," who are also revered for their unconditional love and devotion to Krishna.

How is the festival of colors celebrated?

On the day of Holi, entire streets and towns are filled with people who throw colored powder in the air. Some fling balloons filled with colored water from rooftops and others use squirt guns. For one day, it's all fair game. Cries of "Holi hai!" which means "It's Holi!" can be heard on the streets. Holi has also been romanticized and popularized over the decades in Bollywood films.

The colors seen during Holi symbolize different things. Blue represents the color of Lord Krishna's skin while green symbolizes spring and rebirth. Red symbolizes marriage or fertility while both red and yellow — commonly used in ritual and ceremony — symbolize auspiciousness.

An array of special foods are part of the celebration, with the most popular food during Holi being "gujia," a flaky, deep-fried sweet pastry stuffed with milk curd, nuts and dried fruits. Holi parties also feature "thandai," a cold drink prepared with a mix of almonds, fennel seeds, rose petals, poppy seeds, saffron, milk and sugar.

Holi is celebrated in the diaspora with worship and social gatherings

In North America and in any country with a Hindu population, people of Indian descent celebrate Holi with Bollywood parties and parades, as well as a host of public and private gatherings. Several U.S. temples will observe Holika Dahan this year on Feb. 2 or Feb. 3 to coincide with the full moon day anda total lunar eclipse, which is rare.

It is also common for Hindu temples and community centers in the U.S to organize cultural programs, friendly cricket matches and other festivities around the holiday.

DALLAS (AP) — Texas Republican Sen.John Cornynis trying to hold on for a fifth term inTuesday's GOP primary, while Democrats will choose whether to send Rep.Jasmine Crockettor state Rep.James Talaricoto a November general election where the party once again hopes it has a chance.

Election 2026 Senate Texas

Texas is one of three states kicking off this year's midterm elections, a slate of primaries that come as the U.S. and Israel are at war with Iran. The war, which began over the weekend, has killedat least six U.S. service members, spiraled into aregional confrontationas Iran retaliated and sentoil and natural gas pricessoaring. President Donald Trump, who campaigned on an isolationist"America First" agendaand went to warwithout authorization from Congress, facesmounting questionsover its rationale and an exit strategy.

Tuesday also is the final day of voting in North Carolina and Arkansas inprimariesthat mark the start of the 2026 midterms, as Democrats look to break the GOP's hold on Washington and derail Trump.

Cornyn faces a challenge from MAGA favoriteKen Paxton, the state's attorney general, andRep. Wesley Huntin a contest that's expected to advance to a May runoff between the top two vote-getters. The three Republicans have campaigned on their ties to Trump, who has not endorsed in the race.

Crockett and Talaricoeach arguethat they are the stronger general election candidate in a state that backed Trump by almost 14 percentage points in 2024 and where a Democrat hasn't won a statewide race in over 30 years.

Voters also are choosing House candidates using new congressional district boundaries that GOP lawmakers — urged on by Trump — redrew to help elect more Republicans.

Cornyn fights to hold seat, Crockett and Talarico race for Democrats

Cornyn hopes to avoid becoming the first Republican senator in Texas history not to be renominated.

His cool relationship with Trump is part of why Cornyn is vulnerable. He and allied groups have spent $64 million in television advertising alone since July to try stabilize his support.

Paxton began campaigning in earnest only last month but has made national headlines for filing lawsuits against Democratic initiatives. He has remained popular in Texas despite a 2023 impeachment trial on corruption charges, of which he was acquitted, and accusations of marital infidelity by his wife.

Senate GOP leaders, who are backing Cornyn, worry that Paxton's liabilities would require the party to spend substantially to defend the seat if he is the nominee — money that could be better used elsewhere.

Paxton has run ads touting his support from Turning Point USA, the group founded by the late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, as well as Kirk's praise for Paxton before he was assassinated in September.

Hunt's entry into the race in October made it trickier for any primary candidate to win at least 50%, the threshold needed to avoid a May 26 runoff.

All three Republicans have run ads boasting of their coziness with Trump.

On the Democratic side, the party's first major contest of 2026 offers a choice betweenstylistic oppositesas it hungers for its first Senate win in Texas since 1988.

Talarico, a seminarian who often references the Bible, has held rallies across the state including in heavily Republican areas. Crockett, who has built a national profile for zinger attacks on Republicans, has focused on turning out Black voters in the Dallas and Houston areas.

Talarico had outspent Crockett on television advertising by more than four to one as of late February. He got a burst of attention last month from CBS' decision not to air his interview with late-nighthost Stephen Colbert. Colbert said the network pulled the interview for fear of running afoul of Trump's FCC. Talarico's campaign announced it raised $2.5 million in the 24 hours after the interview — which was streamed online — was pulled from TV.

Key House primaries

Texas Republicans' unusual, mid-decade redistricting was aimed at helping Trump's party pick up five Democratic-held seats in an effort to avoid losing control of the House. It set up some intraparty conflicts between Democratic incumbents, and what are expected to be some of November's most competitive races.

In the 34th District, former Rep.Mayra Floresisattempting a comeback. Flores made history in a 2022 special election as the first Republican to win in the Rio Grande Valley in 150 years, but she lost her bid for a full term later that year. She faces Eric Flores, a lawyer endorsed by Trump, for the nomination to run against Democratic Rep. Vicente Gonzalez.

In the 23rd District, Rep.Tony Gonzalesis considered vulnerable after fellow Republicans called on him to resign over an affair with a staffer who killed herself. He is being challenged by gun manufacturer and YouTube influencer Brandon Herrera, who calls himself "the AK guy." The district includes Uvalde, site of a deadly 2022 shooting at Robb Elementary School.

Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw is challenged in the 2nd District by GOP state Rep. Steve Toth, who was endorsed by Sen. Ted Cruz.

Former Major League Baseball starMark Teixeirais running in District 21, in southwest Texas, for the seat held by Republican Rep. Chip Roy, who is running for state attorney general. Teixeira, a Republican, played for four MLB teams, including the Texas Rangers and the New York Yankees when they won the 2009 World Series.

DemocratBobby Pulido, a Latin Grammy winner, is running in South Texas' 15th District against physician Ada Cuellar. The nominee will face two-term Republican Rep. Monica De La Cruz.

In the 33rd District, Democratic Rep. Julie Johnson faces former Rep. Colin Allred, a former NFL linebacker and 2024 Senate nominee. Johnson, a first-term congresswoman, is seen as vulnerable partly because Allred previously represented part of the district, which weaves through the Dallas and Fort Worth areas. He also retains a national fundraising network from his Senate campaign.

And Democratic Rep. Al Green also is fighting to stay in office after his Houston-based 9th District was drawn to be lean Republican. Green, 78, is now running in a newly drawn 18th District against Democratic Rep. Christian Menefee, 37, who won a January special election for the current 18th District. Thenew oneincludes two-thirds of Green's old district.

Abbott and Hinojosa seem bound to face off for governor, while Roy seeks Paxton's office

Republican Gov. Greg Abbott is running for reelection and faces a likely matchup with Democratic state Rep. Gina Hinojosa.

Four-term U.S. Rep. Chip Roy is seeking the GOP nomination for state attorney general, with Paxton running for Senate. Roy has been a prominent member of the conservative Freedom Caucus.

Movie Review: Pixar delivers with sweet, action-packed 'Hoppers'

"Hoppers" might be built with familiar parts, butPixar's latestisn't trying to hide its various influences. Instead, this buoyant, freewheeling adventure about a spirited 19-year-old environmental activist who infiltrates the animal world in the body a robotic beaver wears its references for all to see. Sometimes it's with a wink; Sometimes it's more overt, like Kathy Najimy's flustered scientist shouting, "This is nothing like'Avatar!'"

Film Review - Hoppers

Of course, "Hoppers," directed by Daniel Chong, is a little like "Avatar," but who can blame her for being defensive? She's figured out how to transport human consciousness into a robotic animal that can not only pass as a real one — in this case a beaver — but communicate with all varieties of mammals, insects and amphibians too. Is it also a"Simpsons already did it"reference? That might be getting a little too meta, but the point is "Hoppers" is having fun with its own chaos.

Najimy's Dr. Fairfax is a relatively minor character in the world of "Hoppers," but she, and everyone else around Beaverton (both animal and human), are rendered with the kind of specificity, care and goofiness that make them memorable regardless of screen time. This is an especially good thing when the supporting voice cast includes people like Meryl Streep, Sam Richardson,Dave Franco, Ego Nwodim and Vanessa Bayer. The last time I felt so singularly connected to the ensemble of a Pixar movie was"Luca,"which was also written by Jesse Andrews.

The hero at the heart of "Hoppers," Mabel Tanaka (Piper Curda), is actually a kind of spiritual sister to "Luca's" Giulia Marcovaldo — impassioned (some might ungenerously say "too much") and a bit of an outcast because of it.

Mabel's focus has always been animals: She was the kid who tried to free the pets in her elementary school (several times). As a young adult, she's the one who shows up on the mayor's lawn to debate. When Mayor Jerry (Jon Hamm) comes to tear down a particularly sentimental spot, the glade, in the name of finishing a highway overpass that will save his constituents four minutes on their commutes, she goes full terminator in her mission to save it — or, you know, as much as a 19-year-old in the body of a mechanical beaver can.

As a beaver, Mabel forms a friendship with King George (Bobby Moynihan), an optimistic, 80s-music loving beaver who oversees a superdam for all the displaced wildlife. The various species live in relative harmony and peace but still abide by dryly practical "pond rules" like "when you've gotta eat, eat." Her gung-ho, apologize later attitude has some positive effects. It also gets her and her new friends in over their heads when she inadvertently incites a war. For a PG-rated Pixar movie, the stakes get rather, uh, real. It is worth remembering that time in "Toy Story 3" where Woody and his pals seemed prepared for imminent incineration. This is decidedly tamer.

Don't think too hard about how "Hoppers" gets you from a little tale about a girl trying to save a patch of land to a truly helter-skelter third act involving a flying assassin shark, a Machiavellian insect prince and more body swapping than "Freakier Friday." Just enjoy the adorable and slightly manic ride.

Somehow, amid all the lighthearted anarchy, "Hoppers" manages to pull a few emotional strings too. After the heavy-handed"Elio" misfire, "Hoppers" might still feel fairly distant from the heights of peak Pixar; It's also a big, joyful leap in the right direction.

"Hoppers," a Walt Disney Co. release in theaters Friday, is rated PG by the Motion Picture Association for "some scary images, mild language and action/peril." Running time: 105 minutes. Three and a half stars out of four.
