Since breaking onto the scene with his eponymous label in 2017, Ludovic de Saint Sernin has made a name for himself dressing some of this generation's coolest It girls, actresses, and musicians, whether it beKylie Jenner,Laura Harrier,orCharli XCX. (His personal favorite?Hunter Schaferdonning a barely-there feather and slip skirt from his Ann Demeulemeester fall/winter 2023 collection to theVanity FairOscar party.) The designer is famed for his BDSM-inspired garments steeped in sex appeal—his dresses are often made from leather straps and accenting metal grommets that snatch the body, and he draws inspiration from boundary-breaking artists like Robert Mapplethorpe, whose imagery he directly referenced in his fall/winter 2024 collection in official partnership with the Mapplethorpe Foundation.

2025 has been quite the year for the French phenom, too. In January, de Saint Sernin was the final guest designer to create a collection forJean Paul Gaultier couture. "Can you believe it was just this year?" he tells ELLE. The designer calls the experience one of the "biggest privileges" of his existence. "It truly was a magnificent time in my life—the research, the fittings, the atelier, the teams, the creative collaborators, the garments, the models, the celebrities—it was all perfect!"

Though the last batch of projects has been a self-described whirlwind, de Saint Sernin is now bringing his creative energy to Zara for an equally sultry collaboration. "There have been so many incredible moments in the last couple of years where I had to pause for a sec, take a breath, and realize I am making a dream come true," he says. From start to finish, the collection—and the campaign, starringAmelia GrayandAlex Consani, shot by Gordon von Steiner—was yet another "pinch me" moment.

"From the storyboard, to being on set in New York City, to closing Wall Street and strutting with my girls while wearing a collection I designed for Zara that's going to be available worldwide and will reach so many people, I feel very lucky that I get to do this," says de Saint Sernin. "I invited my mom to join so she could share this experience with me, and seeing the look in her eyes while this was all happening is a memory I'll never forget."

The collaboration evokes now-signature codes for de Saint Sernin, including low-slung leather pants, a black transparent dress with a leather bra top, a classic black leather trench, and a chain mail two-piece set perfect for party-hopping on New Year's Eve. The designer began sketching over a year ago, pondering how to bring his distinct silhouettes to the global retailer, and eventually decided that the campaign needed to be set in NYC. "It's a city that means so much to me but also feels global the way Zara does—it's for everyone who has a dream." says de Saint Sernin. "And that's what this collection is, a dream."

The lineup, as a result, mirrors much of his own personal style, though in his day-to-day life he says that he tends to dress more "French" than anything else. Explains de Saint Sernin, "I like to be chic, timeless, and comfortable. But when it comes down to going out, I like to have fun, be bold and hot, 'cause I don't know how long I'm gonna look the way I do now, so I want to enjoy it while I can and have no regrets. I want to try everything once."

The collection will be available for purchase on November 17.

  • Little House on the Prairie cast members are remembering one historically inaccurate detail that pops up frequently throughout the show

  • Speaking on a podcast, Alison Arngrim said that many of the actresses on the show wore acrylic nails

  • "They all had the French tips. It was so 'in' in the early eighties," she said

TheLittle House on the Prairiecast is remembering some of the show's historical inaccuracies, noting that long acrylic nails with French manicures (popularized in the 1970s and 1980s) can be seen throughout episodes set in the late 1800s.

In the Nov. 6, 2025, episode of theLittle House 50podcast, co-hosts Pamela Bob, Alison Arngrim and Dean Butler spoke about the nails and how they continually pop up throughout the show — particularly in season 5, episode 9, titled "The Wedding."

At one point in the episode, Mary Ingalls accepts Adam Kendall's long-awaited marriage proposal — which is exactly when co-host Bob notes that audiences can see Mary's decidedly synthetic manicure.

"This is the moment when we first see the nails, the French tips," Bob says in the podcast.

Arngrim — who played Nellie Oleson on the show —adds that the more modern nails can be seen "repeatedly through this episode," with Bob adding: "They're shiny, shiny new. Beautiful. They are shiny new acrylics."

Arngrim then described how she, too, loves a fresh manicure, but always made a point of removing any polish before filming days.

"Now you know I love doing my nails ... I love doing my nails," she said. "I did do that. Even during the show, I know I did not have any sort of acrylics during the show [but] I would often on the weekend paint my nails many interesting colors. ... but Sunday night [removed it] with the nail polish remover."

She continued; "And I don't know. Because Melissa Gilbert had the acrylics. Melissa Sue had the acrylics. They all had the French tips. It was so in in the early eighties. And they all did and I did not. ... I said, 'I'm on a TV show and I have a full seven year contract for a TV show where apparently I live in the 1800s and don't have nails.'"

"Yeah, if it was any any later ... God, the 1930s, maybe we'd gotten away with it," Arngrim said.

Peacock Melissa Sue Anderson as Mary Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie

Added Bob: "It is so weird that Michael Landon was like, 'Yeah. I'm cool with it. It is weird to me.' "

Michael Landon— who playedpatriarchCharles Ingalls on the show — acted as the show's producer, even directing many of the episodes.

Landon died on July 1, 1991, three months after publicly announcing his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer, and is often remembered by the cast of the show.

In a May 2025 episode the podcast, Butler said of Landon: "I think people respected Michael, but I don't think that he had that industry respect that he deserved. He captured audiences in this profound way and continues to capture audiences. In a changing world, he still is able to capture people because there's truth in what he's writing about."
